Funding Priorities

Thank you for your interest in the Neighborhood Mediation Center.

Our Mission is to seek civility and resolution for all conflicts in our community. We do this by openly sharing our conflict resolution skills and tools.

Partnering to help Northern Nevada Youth

By specifically working with organizations in Washoe County that work with young people who are placed at risk, we help them reach and support more kids, more effectively. The end result is more kids having better lives, and a stronger, more civil and conflict competent community.

NMC partners with organizations by getting to know their needs around conflict and communications and then delivering services on a priority basis. Training, coaching, and conflict resolution services are the foundational elements we provide.

Our 5 Year Vision is to by 2027:

  • Solidify 25 ongoing strategic partnerships in Washoe County

  • Help resolve 500 conflict situations per year

  • Train 1,000 people in conflict skills per year

Let’s Make It Happen

This is what you can make happen with a gift of $1,000 to $10,000:

  • A grant of $1,000… Advanced Conflict Resolution Training for five of our volunteer service providers

  • A grant of $1,000… Conflict resolution and de-escalation training for 4 people

  • A grant of $2,500… 40 Hour Basic Mediation training for 1 person

  • A grant of $5,000… Conflict resolution and de-escalation training for an entire class of 20 people

Given our Strategic Framework, our current funding priorities are:

  1. Training people and teams in targeted organizations in conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.

  2. Fund the building of an even stronger team of volunteers through training and sponsorships to training in mediation and conflict coaching.
